Scaffolding works!

It's an AMAZING feeling when, a week after I taught classes by myself, the students seem to have totally grasped the concept I taught! There were even some students who asked me to re-explain the concept today because they said they had no idea what to do, and so I broke everything down and explained it in a different way and then they understood and did the work by themselves, proving to me that they did understand. Also, I have noticed that the use of "I do, we do, you do" modeling and scaffolding REALLY HELPS students' learning! Every time I get to teach by myself, that is the method I use and the students pick up the lesson SUPER quickly and competently, but when the other teacher just has them read and write from a textbook with no modeling or classroom participation, they have no idea what they're doing. The difference is noticeable, and I'm so proud of these awesome kids!
